CT-Multislice
The multislice CT (MSCT), or multi-detector r- row CT (MDCT), is equipped with the multiple T detector rows. It helps to create multiple section's image. A multi-slice CT scanner refers to a special CT system enabling collection of simultaneous data from different slices.
Multislice spiral CT in HR technique may replace the common scanning technique with conventional spiral CT and additional HRCT scans for diffuse lung diseases.
The collimator is at the front of the detector to protect them from the scattered X-Ray.
Radiation dose associated with HRCT of chest is much higher than a routine chest scan. Even with reduced radiation dose scanning technique, the radiation dose of HRCT can exceed the radiation dose of a chest radiography by 100 times (29).
